Total Golf Game Education with Supervised Practice and Improvement Initiatives.

There is no way I can possibly thank you enough. You first met Blaine when he was entering his
Freshman year in high school and helped him make the J.V. and be number one or two all
year long. Thanks to your help with his golf game and equally important giving him advice
on the mental side he has been on the Varsity and was 2nd team all-conference last
year. You helped him understand what it takes to be the best he can be both on
and off the course. What a great influence you have been to my son.

Bill Madonna's TGC Junior Program is for boys and girls who want to compete in junior tournaments and eventually become proficient enough to earn consideration for a golf scholarship to a college or university. Some may become club or touring professionals.

These programs are conducted by PGA golf professionals and designed to further the abilities of junior golfers interested in competition at the local, state and national level.

To date, Bill Madonna has worked with over 300 advanced junior golfers. Many have succeeded in AJGA and related junior events and many have played or are currently playing at the collegiate level.

The program also stresses off-course life and is designed to complement, not take the place of, life as a normal child or teenager.

However, the program requires a high level of commitment. Even if the junior does not progress to the collegiate level, the benefits are still significant.

Who is this program for?

Juniors boys and girls:  Ages 8 - 12 and 13 - 17  and parents wanting their sons or daughters to become proficient in golf for scholarship opportunities.

There are two categories of junior golfers in the TCG Program: Beginner and Advanced.

Beginners will participate in introductory clinics twice a month on Saturday mornings.

Advanced are juniors with at least an 85 or better scoring average and they will be in a "Supervised Practice" environment weekly along with a monthly lesson schedule.

These programs are designed to take the junior golfer to a single or plus digit handicap, while paying special attention to their development as young men and women. BMGA believes these golfers eventually become contributing citizens and pillars of their communities. Parental support, aligned with the goals of the program, promote student success.

The Complete Golfer Coaching Philosophy

  • Each athlete is a unique individual.
  • High performance athletes develop at different rates.
  • Developing the complete individual will enable the finest athlete and person possible to emerge.
  • Parental support and a professional coaching influence are key components in the development of top golfers.
  • The commitment to excellence develops champions.
  • The player's score and who he is as an individual are not related.
  • Optimum growth comes from clear intentions and strong commitments by the athlete, coaches and parents.

Maturing into a champion both on and off the course is an exciting challenge for aspiring young athletes and their families. It takes considerable commitment, support, feedback and training.

A professional coaching influence combined with effective training and practice is paramount in this process. TCG is a holistic approach to developing and nurturing adolescents so that they will mature into the finest golfers and most outstanding people possible. This specialized program presents committed athletes with an opportunity to realize their goals in both sport and life.

What can participating athletes expect?

  • To have fun, support and a full commitment from all BMGA teacher/coaches.
  • To improve as golfers, students and people.
  • A professional coaching and training program that is adapted to meet their specific needs.
  • Honest and open two-way communication and feedback.
  • Structured coaching, practice and training with a focus on swing technique, fitness, nutrition, short game proficiency, course management and mental skills.
  • Preparation and guidance for life as a collegiate student-athlete and beyond.
  • Personal telephone and e-mail access to all BMGA golf coaches.

An Exclusive Question - and - Answer Session With Bill Madonna About the TGC Program.

Q: Why did you start this junior program?

A: In working with hundreds of high school golf coaches around the country, I realized that there was a need for a program to help serious junior golfers excel and reach their full potential.

Q: My child seems to have a talent for the game. He's 12 and can shoot in the high 70s but has had little formal training. Is he a good candidate?

A: It's important that your boy likes golf enough to want to pursue it seriously at this age. I've seen parents force the game on children who are talented and it's not a good idea. It sounds like your child has some good ability. I would add that there are plenty of boys aged 12 who can shoot in the high 70s so it's already competitive out there. But it sounds like he is likely a good candidate for the program.

Q: How do you develop talent?

A: In golf, technique is more important that talent. Certainly talent will get you up the technique ladder a little more qucikly, but good - to - great golf takes a lot more than talent. If it just took athletic talent, Michael Jordan should have won the U.S. Open by now! I develop technique through golf specific drills and the student's crystal clear understanding of absolute fact, not theory. We are all born with varying levels of talent and athleticism and it pretty much doesn't change. However I can change your technique in hour one of a lesson and you will see dramatic improvement.

Q: Is this just golf all the time?

A: Absolutely not. School comes first at all times and there's plenty of time for non-golf activities. The program also includes character development, nutrition, rules, and many other components. TGC is a holistic approach to developing and nurturing adolescents so that they will mature into the finest and most outstanding people possible. I'm well aware that burn-out can be an issue. So the program helps the student make the most use of the practice time, leaving time for school and non-golf activities.

Q: What is the program like month-to-month?

A: A big part of TGC is the Supervised Practice and Improvements Initiative. Each month, the student visits the BMGA, has an assessment, gets a reward for reaching certain goals, and gets a practice schedule for the following month.

Q: Do I have to be in Orlando?
A: The program is geared around visits to my academy in Florida. However, I can customize it for people who cannot get to Orlando once a month.

Q: When did you start the program?

A: In 1995. Since then, many students have earned scholarships to colleges and universities. Many have not. However, all students leave the program with a much improved game, a foundation for life, and a solid background in golf. When they leave college, they can play golf at a high level - something that's important in the business world.

Q: Are you personally involved?

A: Yes. My assistant teachers help with the program but I personally supervise each member of the program and often teach and supervise the practice myself.

Q: How do you get started?

A: The program initially groups golfers based on age: 8-12 and 13-17. There are two categories within these age groups: Beginner and Advanced. Everything starts with an assessment at my academy in Orlando. Parents also need to be involved and they are part of the assessment.

Q: What does it cost?

A: Each member of the program purchases the TCG Student Kit which costs $350 and includes all the items the student will need to get started. Programs start at $85 per month and go up to $395 per month.

Q: How do I learn more? How do I apply?

A: You can either Click Here or call me at 888-305-9236 and we'll go from there.  I'm happy to meet with families who are in interested in the program - at any time!
